Kogi is a state in the central region of Nigeria. It is popularly called the Confluence State because the confluence of River Niger and River Benue is at its capital, Lokoja, which is the first administrative capital of modern-day Nigeria.
Some of Nigerian finest musicians hail from Kogi State, I’ll mention just few of them.
1. Jaywon
Iledare Oluwajuwonlo (born 6 June), better known by his stage name Jaywon, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, performer, producer and actor from Kogi State.
Jaywon completed his primary education at ECWA Primary School then went on to fulfil his high school at Government Secondary School in Kogi State before graduating with HND honours in Account from Federal Polytechnic, Bida.
2. Praiz
Praiz, a native of Igala in Kogi State was born in Lagos but later relocated to Kaduna in 1992 after his father was transferred there on a missionary work. He is the second child out of four children. He has a National Diploma in Computer Science after graduating from Kaduna Polytechnic.
3. WizzyPro
Nifu Haruna, also known by his stage name WizzyPro is a Nigerian record producer and sound engineer.
Best known for his chart-topping single titled “Emergency”, WizzyPro is credited as the producer of Patoranking’s first official single titled “Alubarika” which brought him to limelight.
WizzyPro is signed to BeatBox and is currently working on his debut studio album titled Lord of the Sound.
4. YQ
Born Yakub Jubril, Hailing from the center of the country, the confluence of two great rivers, it is no surprise that YQ himself is the meeting place of different music genres. Dominant in his sound are R&B, reggae and soul. He blends them all smoothly, before adding a pinch of Yoruba flavor.

5. Tunde Ednut
Tunde Ednut is a Comedian and a musician based in UK, London to be precise, he is from Kogi state. Born on Jan 20th.
He Grew up in the North (Katsina State) and then moved to Lagos in the early 90s. He is the First boy, second born from a family of three (1 girl, 2 boys). He attended Federal Government College Ugwolawo, Kogi State and then University was in Unilag (studied Graphic Arts/ 3D Effects).
