Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has lamented the poor state of education sector in Nigeria.
This is coming on the back of the increasing trend of youths dropping out of school to engage in cyber scam.
Bruce noted that government had spent ₦24 billion building new offices and jail cells for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), an agency responsible for tracking financial fraudsters. Whereas in the educational sector, government have not spent the quantum of money spent on EFCC on any of government owned universities for capital expenditure or capacity building.
Bruce cited this as the major reason why youths leave books to face Yahoo which lands them in EFCC’s cell.
