Liverpool’s Alisson Becker has been named UEFA’s Best Goalkeeper of the 2018/19 season, MySportDab reports.

The Brazilian stopper helped the Reds to Champions League success in his first season with the Anfield club following last summer’s transfer from Roma, after which he briefly became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper.

The Champions League success marked a golden ending to Alisson’s first campaign in English football, with the Brazilian goalkeeper keeping six clean sheets in the Champions League including one in the final as the Reds shut out Premier League rivals Tottenham 2-0 in Madrid.

Alisson – who is currently sidelined with a calf injury – beat Tottenham’s Hugo Lloris and Barcelona’s Marc Andre ter Stegen to the award.
