UK Government Releases Names Of Dead Nigerians With Unclaimed Assets

The identities of at least 56 Nigerians who passed away in the UK and left behind properties, including estates, have been made public by the British government.

According to Business Day, the list is available on the Treasury Solicitor website of the  UK government

The UK government reportedly stated that it would forfeit part of the properties belonged to Nigerians who passed away in the UK within the last 30 years by December 2022.

Mark Nwogo, the oldest and one of the affected individuals, was claimed to have been born in Nigeria’s Delta State but passed away in the UK on December 9, 1992.

Victor Adedapo Olufemi Fani-Kayode, who was reported to have passed away on August 15, 2001 in Birmingham, is also included on the list.
Arbel Aai’Lotta’Qua Abouarh, another Nigerian, passed away on February 5, 1998, in Chiswick, London, leaving behind unclaimed wealth.

Solomon Adekanmibi, who passed away on January 31, 2021 in Colchester, Essex, Eugene Bucknor who passed away on March 2, 2021 in Brockley, London, Jeff Adhekeh who passed away on March 12, 2021 in South Kensington, London, and Louisa Holmes who passed away on May 24, 2021 in Cheam Sutton, are just a few recent Nigerians who passed away in the UK with property that has not been claimed.
