Nigeria’s entertainment industry did not just provide jobs for many but also made stars and celebrities out of them. Looking back, most celebrities would not have envisaged being where they are today. Now they are well known in the society and are regarded as “Big boys and Big Chics”.
However, many Nigerians have no idea what their favourite celebrities looked like as kids.

Genevieve Nnaji: She is one of Nigeria’s top female actresses. She was born in Mbaise, Imo state but grew up in Lagos. She started her acting career as a child actress in the then popular television soap opera Ripples at the age of 8 and in 1998, she was introduced into the growing Nigerian film industry with the movie “Most Wanted.” She has starred in countless movies.
Don Jazzy: Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, is a Nigerian Multi award-winning record producer, singer, songwriter, former CEO of Nigerian record label Mo’ Hits Records founded in 2004 and current CEO of the Mavin Records label which he founded in May 2012. He has produced tracks for Dr SID, Wande Coal, D’Prince, Darey, Naeto C and many other stars.
Ini Edo: Iniobong Edo Ekim born on April 19, 1982 hails from Akwa Ibom. She is among the top actresses in Nollywood. Her very first film was “Thick Madam” (2003) and since then, she has featured in over a 100 films, just 30 in 2007 alone. She is married to Philip Ehiagwina.
Paul and Peter Okoye: The identical twin brothers popularly called P-Square are one of the top music artistes in Nigeria. They have fans both in Nigeria and outside the country. They have won several awards and are both married to their baby mamas.
D’banj: Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo is is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, harmonica player, and businessman. He has won several music awards, including the awards for Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007. His song ‘Oliver Twist’ was a hit which gained international recognition
Tiwa Savage: is a Nigerian singer-songwriter, recording artist, performer, and actress. She is currently signed to MAVIN records. She is known for songs like, Eminado, Kele Kele Love and many others. She is married to her manager, Tunji “Tee Billz” Balogun.
Davido: David Adedeji Adeleke (born November 21, 1992) is a recording artist, performer, and record producer. He is known for hit songs like, Skelewu, Aye and a host of others.
Tonto Dikeh: Tonto Charity Dikeh, also known as Poko is a Nigerian actress and singer who hails from Rivers State. Her journey into the movie industry started after she competed in a reality TV show called The Next Movie Star and she emerged the first runner up.
D’Prince: Charles Enebeli (popularly known as D’Prince) is a Nigerian singer-songwriter. He was born in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. He is the younger brother of Don Jazzy.
BasketMouth: Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth is a Nigerian comedian and actor from Abia State who has organized popular stand-up comedy concerts like Basketmouth Uncensored across the globe.
