Arsenal are reportedly planning to table a £12m bid for Manchester United defended Chris Smalling this summer.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has renewed his interest in the centre-back amid reports that the Red Devils are undecided about whether to offer him a new contract, according to The Telegraph.
Smalling has 12 months remaining on his current deal, while United boss Louis van Gaalis reportedly keen to recruit another centre-back in the summer.
The former Fulham man could befrozen out at Old Trafford if Van Gaal lands long-term transfer target Mats Hummels of Borussia Dortmund.
Arsenal missed out on Smalling’s signature in 2010 when he joined United from Fulham in a £10m deal.
