LAUTECH Graduate Reveals His Method For Hacking Into Bank Accounts

Babatunde Fatai, a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology in Ogbomoso, Oyo state, has revealed how he has defrauded a lot of people of lots of money including by gaining access to the bank accounts.

The Punch reports that Babatunde was arrested by Oyo police and arraigned before a court but finally released on bail. He was arrested for robbery and fraudulently hacking into the accounts of Nigerians and non-Nigerians.

When he was arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in his possession were N2.4m, a Honda CRV, a Nissan Altima car, a Ford saloon car and a Toyota Camry saloon car.

He said he could not recollect how much he had made from internet fraud but admitted that he had been doing it for a long time.

He explained that it involved painstaking effort to succeed as a fraudster.

He said: “It is not easy to do Internet fraud. It takes painstaking effort.

“At times, I would go to dating sites to woo both men and women. I would make sure they fall in love with me by regularly sending love and romantic messages and even calling them until I deceived them into giving me their account details.

“At times, I would send fake emails to bank customers making it look like it emanated from their banks. Then I would ask them to change their password, PIN or other bank account security details.

“They would be required to input the old and new, but as soon as I get the old password, I would use it to hack into their accounts, transfer the money to the person I’m dating abroad, who would later send it to me through another means.”

In a related development, a man simply identified as Al was arrested by Lagos state police officers for for reportedly defrauding a Mexican woman of $700,000.
