On Wednesday, November 25, history will be made as Nigerian media entrepreneur Funmi Iyanda will receive a honourary fellowship award from the University of Cumbria.
Funmi will be the first African woman to receive this award. She is being recognized for her contributions to human rights and sustainability.
The investiture will take place during a graduation ceremony in the historic Carlisle Cathedral in Cumbria, North West England in acknowledgment of her outstanding and high profile work.
Ageless Funmi is an award-winning producer, talk show host, journalist and activist, she is best known for independently producing and hosting Nigeria’s most popular talk show, New Dawn with Funmi, which ran on the national network for eight years.
Funmi Iyanda is a director at Creation Television, a film production company in the United Kingdom, she is also the founder of Change-A-Life Foundation, a social service non-profit organisation that acts as a bridge between exceptional but indigent youth and women and the individuals, agencies and organisations with the capacity and willingness to meet these people’s needs.
