Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has reportedly quit his job as a coach at the Gunners after a massive row with manager, Arsene Wenger.

Fresh reports from the UK say Henry dumped his coaching role at Arsenal after Wenger gave him an ultimatum to quit £4million-a-year job at Sky as a pundit or lose the club’s academy job.

The Gunners legend was working four days a week at the club as a youth coach but boss Wenger told Henry he could only continue if he quit his £4million-a-year Sky pundit role.

Henry, who offered to work for the Gunners for free — has no intention of doing that, dumping a paying job for one that isn’t.

Wenger was annoyed that Henry criticised Gunners stars, particularly Olivier Giroud, on the television. Henry claimed Arsenal would struggle to mount a title challenge with Giroud as first-choice striker.

Wenger, who is also a regular TV pundit for beIN Sports.

Wenger’s move has reportedly shocked senior officials at the club who are shocked that Wenger has made the move to jettison a man who is arguably Arsenal’s greatest-ever player.

Some have even suggested that Wenger, who has a year left on his current deal, feels threatened by Henry, who has managerial ambitions.

Henry had been offered a paid post working with the Under-18s — and replied that he would do it for free.

Henry scooped two Prem titles and three FA Cups in eight-plus years, split over two stints, in which he notched up 228 goals in 376 appearances – earning him a statue outside the Emirates.

Fellow Gunners legend Tony Adams recently agreed to a post that would have involved working alongside Henry as an assistant coach with the club’s academy.
