The club chief revels in his side’s ruthless display after their emphatic 7-0 win on Saturday, praising the way they storm into significant leads Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness expressed his delight with his players after they brushed Werder Bremen aside in a remarkable 7-0 victory.

Franck Ribery scored twice on Saturday after an own goal from Assani Lukimya, with strikes from Daniel Van Buyten, Mario Mandzukic, Thomas Muller and Mario Gotze completing a miserable day for the hosts.

Afterwards, Hoeness spoke of his ecstasy at the Bavarians’ recent performances and stressed that he was particularly happy with their relentless drive after going in front.

“We’re on an unbelievable run at the moment,” the 61-year-old told Bayern’s official website.

“Once this team takes the lead they really rev up the motor. As a Bayern fan and club president you just sit back and enjoy it.”

The win over Bremen was Bayern’s 11th consecutive victory in all competitions this season and stretched their unbeaten run in the Bundesliga to 40 games.

“You can see we’re brimming with confidence,” Hoeness added.

Bayern sit top of the Bundesliga with 41 points from 15 games, four clear of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen.
