Abuja – Fresh facts surrounding Thursday’s release of 21 ChiboK girls have emerged.
Sahara Reporters is reporting that the captured Chibok girls were released after a prisoner swap between the Nigerian government and the Boko Haram sect.
It quoted an unnamed Boko Haram commander as making the revelation.
The unnamed Boko Haram commander said the release of the first batch of Chibok girls involved a prisoner swap of detained Boko Haram militants.
He said the 21 freed Chibok girls were swapped with four four high profile Boko Haram militants.
The Presidency, according to News 24 had earlier said the girls release was facilitated by a collaboration between the International Red Cross, the Swiss government and the Nigerian government.
