Last Monday, Brymo was nominated for the Best Male Artiste, Western Africa category for his smash hit, “In the City”, the soundtrack for anticipated film, No Good Turn starring and directed by filmmaker and actor Udoka Oyeka.

The African Union and the 13-man Jury of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), have unveiled the Nominee List for the 2016 edition of AFRIMA (AFRIMA 3.0). The nominees were unveiled at the Protea Hotel, GRA Ikeja, Lagos with live online broadcast.

The film for which the soundtrack backs, No Good Turn, is a dramatic film that chronicles the day in the life of a doctor during a Boko Haram terrorist attack in Northern Nigeria and tells the untold stories of sacrifice and dedication to maintaining orderliness even during these trying times in Nigeria’s history.

When asked what drove his desire to work on the soundtrack for the No Good Turn film, Brymo had this to say:

“The script presented an opportunity for me to be vocal about the crisis in the North… It’s hard to make comments online when issues like that are ongoing because of the political web that is usually woven around them… It suddenly became possible to say something, and it’s always better on a track anyway.

He also said it is important for people to view the movie because the movie shows how everyone is affected during a crisis, and that if we continue to neglect the root causes of our collective problems, we’ll all be there to pay the price.”

The film also stars Norbert Young and Waje among others and the music video for the song was also directed by Oyeka.
