Former Manchester United player Andy Cole has urged the club not to sack current manager Louis van Gaal after losing to Arsenal in the quarter final of the FA Cup yesterday night.
Cole argued that it will disrupt the progress of the team if the Dutchman is sacked and a new man is employed at the helms. United are currently in a position of going trophy-less for the second consecutive season.
Last season they went trophy-less under David Moyes who was sacked after ten months in charge of the team but the situation under van Gaal hasn’t been much different and there are fears that the club’s hierarchy may wield the big stick on the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager.
“Manchester United’s aim is to get back into the European Cup next season. If they do that, that is progression,” Cole told talkSPORT.”A new manager has come in, with different ideas, and it is going to take a bit of time.
“Nothing is built in a day. It is going to take time to get themto play the way he wants to play and hopefully he can be very successful.”
Manchester United are currently fourth on the premier league log with 53 points and will next be in premier league action against Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday.
