Football legend, David Beckham is reportedly not happy over his middle son Romeo’s decision to quit the game of football.

As revealed by the Mirror, 13-year-old Romeo has followed in his older brother Brooklyn’s footsteps by ending a potential career in the game. The teenager, who already has carved out a modelling job with Burberry, was not affiliated with an academy of some sort.

Beckham Snr. spoke of the matter, “Part of me was devastated but part of me was relieved, too. He’s got other passions and I like that”. This is the second time that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid winger has seen a child move away from their father’s occupation.

16-year-old Brooklyn, the eldest of the four Beckham children, was on the books of Arsenal at one point, but after being released by the Gunners, has since moved on to find an interest in photography.

Beckham was also on hand to talk about football’s ruling body, FIFA, the scandal it has endured in recent times and the decision to go ahead with hosting the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“There’s a lot still to be done. It’s such a mess that it’s going to take a while to sort out. For me to see the game, the way it’s been treated and looked after, is devastating. It’s disgusting. It’s such a mess that it’s going to take a while to sort out. Whether it’s corrupt or not, those countries have been chosen. People need to get behind that. It’s all about bringing football to new countries. I think they should stick with it.”

Beckham was at the forefront of the media last month after he organised a charity game between many footballing legends at Old Trafford in honour of his 10 year anniversary of being a UNICEF ambassador.
