The Nigeria Entertainment Awards returns in her 13th edition scheduled to hold in November, 2018. With the objective being to promote the image and culture of Nigeria on the global front, the organizers have released the list of nominees and the categories presented for the 2018 season.
The year 2018 has been an eventful one so far for Davido Music Worldwide on all facets. From talents expansion to securing the numbers, taking new territories and ruling the airwaves with new & hot music singles, Africa’s number one music label platform has been roller-coasting on a streak of wins. It is therefore not surprising that Davido and his 30 billion gang members have taken lead with 7 category nominations at this year’s NEA Awards.
The list begins with DMW head honcho act, Davido bagging 2 nominations in the categories; Afropop Male Artist of the Year and Hottest Music Single of the Year for the national hit ‘Assurance’. Prodigy, Mayorkun, bagged a Trailblazer of the Year nomination attesting to an impressive growth since his emergence on the music scene. Singer-songwriter and otherwise master of vibes, Peruzzi scored an aptly deserving nomination in the Fresh Vibes of the Year category while newest entrant to the gang and mafia of the street, Idowest was nominated in the Most Promising Act To Watch category.
Producer, Fresh VDM wasn’t left out as he also got nominated in the Music Producer of the Year category for the continental smash hit ‘FIA’. This is a rare feat for producers being that it’s the very first of its kind for Fresh who only just started progress on the forefront of the music industry affairs, and finally DJ Ecool’s nomination in the Best DJ Singles of the Year category for the song ‘ADA’ featuring Davido. ‘ADA’ was an instant music hit released in the wake of the 2018 year that set the pace for others to follow. Ecool surely deserves the accolade for that one.
