Didier Drogba is considering to leave Chelsea FC for a Major League Soccer club.
Chelsea striker Didier Drogba is a major target for Major League Soccer side Portland Timbers, who want him to follow Steven Gerrard to America.
With Steven Gerrard set to quit Liverpool for a move to MLS side LA Galaxy at the end of the season, the Portland Timerbers have also earmarked Chelsea’s Drogba as a potential target, with club owner Merritt Paulson claiming an interest in the player.
“Drogba is a unique guy who, despite his age, is uniquely skilled to clean up in MLS,” Paulson said via theMetro.
“The League almost signed him a couple years ago and I know my coach would love him to be a Timber, but I highly doubt it at this point.”
The 36-year-old was welcomed back home to Stamford Bridge after he left two years ago for stints in China and Turkey, respectively. It is left to be seen if the much-loved Drogba would leave his ‘home’ for another sojourn in the USA.
