Minjin is a young and aspiring music artist well known for bringing something undeniably fresh to the table.
Born Minjin Adewale Lawanson Junior, he started very young and began spitting rhymes at 14, before he was later signed into Kennis music few years ago.
Now, with several releases already under his belt, he has recently found his style and voice and decided to leave the record label which he used as a ladder to limelight; Kennis Music. In all, Minjin is an artist that is worth keeping your eyes on.
He tells his reasons for leaving the famous record label which has had great music stars like, Tuface Idibia, Jaywon, Essence and lots more.
“My contract expired with Kennis, so I had to leave them but we are still family. Kenny’s kids are my great friends. We even worship in same church. We might be partnering to do things together in the future but I am not currently with any record label.” He revealed.
Minjin also spoke about his debut in movies and his chances of finally leaving music for the movies.
‘ I did a movie ‘New man street’ where I played the lead role. It was tasking, took my time but it was worth it. I would never leave movie for acting. Music pays me more than movies, so I’ll stick with music and do movies once in a while.”
Minjin said he got his stage name from his mother a long time ago. “Before I started doing music, I was dancing then, modelling and all when she gave me the name, ‘Minjin’ meaning my son from God (the most high). I had to stick with it (Minjin) because it was unique and not everybody bears the name.”
