Ibrahim el-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), has raised concerns that his condition in India is just like a prison setting and that the federal government was working with the U.S agents to frustrate his treatment.

However reacting to El Zakzaky’s claims, the federal government said that the IMN leader has violated the conditions for which he was allowed to travel to India. He wanted to check into a five-star hotel in India rather than a hospital.

Last week, a Kaduna high court granted the Shiite leader and his wife, Zeenat, medical leave to India due to his deteriorating health condition.

The court had also ordered that government officials and security operatives accompany them on the trip, which they embarked on Monday evening.

In a statement, Grace Gekpe, permanent secretary, ministry of information, revealed that the IMN leader sought to have his passport and free movement, adding that he wanted to receive visitors and stay in a 5-star hotel.
