Tottenham Hotspur twice rallied from behind to clinch a 2-2 draw with Southampton at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.

In a match with both sides looking for European football, it was a fairly dull affair in the first 25 minutes, with the only save of note being Hugo Lloris tipping behind Morgan Schneidelin’s volley.

The home side didn’t have to wait long after that to take the lead when Graziano Pelle capitalised on first Ryan Mason’s slip and then Ben Davies’s hesitancy to prod the ball past Lloris.

Spurs were disappointing in the first half, with Harry Kane starved of service, but they were level two minutes before the break when Eric Dier crossed and Erik Lamela headed in off his shoulder.

Ronald Koeman’s men went in front again in the second half when Pelle got his second, magnificently heading Shane Long’s cross home from about thirteen yards out.

The away side once again came back though when Nacer Chadli found the far post with his shot to earn boss Mauricio Pochettino a share of the spoils against his former club.
