A father who caught a 17-year-old boy with his 16-year-old daughter in bed did the unthinkable – shot the boy to death.

According to the police, the 55-year-old man claimed he was woken up by one of his four children who said someone was in the house.

The police said , the girl’s younger brother had gone to say good night to his sister when he saw two feet sticking out under the bed.

Mirror News reports:

After telling his father, the man picked up his gun for protection and went to investigate.

On entering the bedroom he found Johran  McCormick with the girl.

At first the schoolgirl denied knowing the college student which led to an argument between him and the father.

After McCormick refused to follow any instructions he reached out for an object. Fearing he was going to be hit the father opened fire shooting him dead.

Police have said McCormick was unarmed.

Following the shooting the girl admitted to investigators she knew McCormick and had let him into the house in Spring, Texas, shortly after midnight on Thursday.

Police responded to the incident around 2:30am after receiving the 911.

After the shooting Johran’s mother, Zakia  McCormick she hoped she would receive an apology from the killer.

She said: “A call you know, I’m sorry. He didn’t deserve to die like that.

“I have never ever felt a pain like this.

“I would like my baby back, but I know that’s not possible.”

No other injuries were reported, but the father was taken to the hospital to be checked after complaining of pains in his chest.

Detectives said the man appeared to be on several medications.

Neighbours of the family described the father as “strict” but were torn over his actions.

“As a mum, I just can’t imagine,” said Letica (corr) Field.

“I know the dad was trying to protect the family, but he should have let the authorities handle it.”

Yesterday friends of McCormick took to Twitter to pay their respects.

Joel Rodriguez wrote: “Johran McCormick was one of my good friends and a funny guy, he will be miss keep his family in your prayers, rest in peace bud.”

Daniel Camarena (corr) posted a pictured of the teenager adding: “Your first night in heaven as a new gained angel… I love you and will forever miss you Johran. Rip and goodnight.”

The family recently moved to the house from a nearby area. Authorities have since interviewed all four children.

Their mother, who was at work at the time of the shooting, later arrived to drive them away in a minivan.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed yet. The case will be referred to a grand jury.
