Nollywood actor Femi Adebayo paid homage to his father, the veteran fim and thetre practitnoner Adebayo Salami as he picked up the gong for Best Indigenous Movie or TV Series (Yoruba) at the ongoing Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards held at Eko Hotel.

His Etiko Onigedu beat four other nominees in the category, including his father’s Adaba to win the trophy.

In his speech, he referenced his father’s work saying ‘My dad and I were in the same category and he blessed me before going in today’.

The younger Adebayo started his acting career as a teenager in the mid 90’s following in the footsteps of his father- who was a popular actor from his days as a trainee with the Ojo Ladipo drama troupe in the 1960’s and who still performs even as a septuagenarian.
