Popular Nigerian singer, Harrison Tare Okiri better known by his stage name Harrysong is no long in a contractual relationship with Kcee’s Five Star Music record label.
In an interview with LIB, the Samankwe singer revealed that he reached this agreement with the label 2 weeks ago, during a dinner with E-Money, Kcee and other team members at his old label record.
“I am running Alterplate now. They have given me their blessings and asked me to be free to run Alterplate. I am going to relaunch Alterplate maybe in the next two weeks, we are working towards it,” the singer said.
Recall that the drama between Harrysong and the record label started in January, after the singer accused the company of not appreciating his efforts. He dumped the label, launched his own company Alter Plate, prompting a media/police drama that stretched for days. Five Star Music ordered his arrest, accusing the singer of breaching a contractual agreement and also forging Kcee’s brother, E-Money’s signature.
Harrysong was released two days later, and quickly, the Samankwe singer took to Instagram to announce his return to Five Star Music. He apologised to his bosses, and said they will remain his “family forever.”
Fast forward to May and the label has set the singer finally free to run his own label.
“We reached this agreement two weeks ago during a dinner. I have great respect for them, for them to have done what they did to me to bless my company and say I’m free to go and run my Alterplate, they’re good people. Both families are ok now,” Harrysong says today.
