The health status of 4-yr-old Omonigho Odia, who was attacked by two dogs in the Igando area of Lagos State about a month ago seems not to have improved as expected considering the level of abandonment he got recently at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, ikeja where is he currently receiving treatment.

Speaking to PorscheClassy correspondent yesterday afternoon around 3:30pm, Omo’s father, Mr Abraham Odia gave special remarks and commendation to Governor Fashola of Lagos state over his swift response to his son’s health condition.

Though he complained bitterly about how the management of LASUTH in conjuction with the Chief Medical director abandoned the boy for two weeks after the Governor’s order that the boy be treated and all bills be forwarded to the Lagos state government through the Ministry of Health.

In his words, he said “LASUTH Management failed to honour the letter by the Lagos State Governor through the Ministry of Health, initially i was buying drugs and paying the bills until the information got to Governor who immediately ordered that i stop payment and instructed that i be refunded all i’ve spent and that was done.’

“But to my amazement, immediately LASUTH Management got the letter, they stopped treating Omo. My Son was abandoned for 2 weeks and the head started swelling and smelling, normally the dressing day is Monday and fridays but for two weeks these people did nothing.”

“Every attempt to get their response failed as they keep saying the Professor is not available, we’ve been here for a month and 4days hence why i had to cry out to Nigerians and the Lagos state government so that everyone can know the truth”

When PorscheClassy correspondent asked him about the ongoing court case about the dogs and its owner, Odia said ‘The dogs presented in court are not the real dogs, i can show you the real dogs on my phone. Those dogs are crazy german shepherd and no one dares go to them except the owner so how come suddenly some policemen at the Lagos command can easily tame them and bring them to court effortlessly”

When asked if the dogs have always been violent, Odia said ‘Let me tell you this, when the dogs were initially arrested and taken to Igando Police Station, the one who ate my son’s skull the most got lose from the chain and everyone, i mean all the policemen ran away. They locked the station gate, closed doors and everyone took off cause the dog is very wild and terrifying.

The visit by PorscheClassy Media crew confirmed that Omonigho had started receiving treatment again as at yesterday ‘Wednesday 29th of October’ after the father had cried out of neglect by the hospital management.
