Nigeria international Kalu Uche has joined Spanish La Liga side Levante from Al Rayyan until the end of the season.

Uche, older brother of Ikechukwu who plays for Villarreal in the Primera Division, joined Al Rayyan from fellow Qatari Club side El Jaish in September 2014 and scored 11 goals in 8 league matches.

His return to the Spanish top-flight put paid to a two-and-a-half-year absence after leaving Espanyol for Turkish club Kasimpasa, where he scored 19 goals in 35 matches in the 2012/13 season.

The former Enyimba forward also had spells with Almeria, Polish outfit Wisla Krakow and Swiss club Neuchatel Xamax.

Levante are winless in their last eight league matches and occupy 19th position in the 20-team table on 16 points. Uche could debut on Sunday when they host Athletic Bilbao.

The 32-year-old, whose last appearance for the Super Eagles came in 2012, was a member of Nigeria’s squad at the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. He has 36 international caps with 5 goals.

Levante have also completed the signing of experienced defender Ivan Ramis on a free transfer.

Ramis returns to his homeland after three-year spell with English Championship club Wigan Athletic. He has signed an 18-month deal with the Valencian club.
