LAGOS: DECEMBER 2: As part of its contributions to the legacy of working mothers in Nigeria, Working Moms Africa Magazine, a leading African publication that focuses on the life and times of mothers is now set to host the Lagos edition of its annual Moms’ Ball.

This year’s event, which holds by 4.30 pm on 15th December, 2013 at the prestigious Clear Essence California Resort, 13 Alexandra Road, Ikoyi, Lagos is created to celebrate, encourage and continually support working class mothers.

The LAGOS MOMS BALL is a buildup to the NATIONAL MOMS’ SUMMIT schedule to hold in Abuja. The Abuja MOMS’ BALL was held last year.

According to the convener of the MOMS’ BALL, Mrs. Mary Ikoku, the annual event is dedicated to showcasing and honouring mothers from different works of life who have achieved a commendable feat pursuing a chosen career while supporting the family.
“It will bring together high net-worth individuals, high profile mothers and achievers in the society as well as working mothers in the private or public sectors. It promises to be a night of glamour, class and fun”, she said.

While calling on corporate bodies to take advantage of the LAGOS MOMS’ BALL to increase the voice share of their brand, the convener said that the event will provide huge opportunity for businesses to enjoy media spotlight and brand recognition while connecting with working mothers to reach their target audience.

She stated that it will create a relaxed atmosphere to discuss work place issues, explore and showcase best practices that assist productivity improvements for the business whilst supporting career enhancement for working mothers.
She added that the event will help to promote win-wins for the businesses and their working mother employees by finding innovative ways to encourage the working mother and the family towards better achieving the corporate goals.

The Convener stated that the Lagos Ball will raise fund to support the less privileged mothers and their children adding it will also be used to launch the initiative for the Advancement of Mother Infant child, (MIC).
Ikoku disclosed that LAGOS MOMS’ BALL will feature series of entertainment for the pleasure of our esteemed Working Moms such as “No Holds Barred Shopping” where companies can take an exhibition stand to display their goods and services in a meet and greet/cocktail session 2 hours before the ball.
