2014 has been a busy year for May7ven; following her African tour, the release of her Queen of Afrobeats E.P, returning to the UK in November for a nationwide promotional School tour, a series of special performances and finally headlining her own show at the world famous Jazz Café in Camden. With all these and more under her belt, May7ven’s brand prowess continues to grow, while her ability to connect directly with her fanbase has become second to none, as an independent artist wavering both sides of the Atlantic, in the UK and Africa.
Spearheading the Afrobeat invasion representing for the females, May7ven releases a musically interesting and infectious anthem “Werk” that every working class person can relate to, produced by Mictizzle Beatz who is signed to her label. After running a 3-month online competition that had her hashtag #WERK trending, May7ven’s chosen cover art design by the winning fan to reflect her africanised, eclectic and cosmopolitan style. The track fits perfectly in the genre of Afrobeats, Dance and Hip Hop , omplete with a bass heavy, tantalizing House Remix by the House Boyz.
