Anthony Martial insists he will not feel the pressure at Manchester United after becoming the world’s most-expensive teenager.
The 19-year-old has joined from Monaco in a deal that could eventually be worth £58.7 million (€80m).
Martial has made only 52 appearances in Ligue 1 following his first-team debut for Lyon in the Europa League in December 2012 but the France Under-21 international believes he is prepared for the challenge at Old Trafford.
“I don’t feel the pressure. I know there is pressure but I’m ready for it,” Martial told MUTV.
“I’m very happy because it’s a big club in England. I’m very proud. I’m very happy because I worked hard for this and my family is very happy about it.
“I spoke with the coach, Louis van Gaal, and I know that I need to work very hard. It’s not easy to speak about myself but I am a very fast player. I hope that everything will go well for me at this club.”
