Barely 24 hours after Ondo state governor, Olusegun Mimiko formally decamped from Labour Party to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), all members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have followed his footstep.
All 26 members of the state house of assembly were said to have dumped the Labour party for the PDP, AIT reports.
Gov. Olusegun Mimiko had formally announced his defection from Labour Party (LP) to PDP on Thursday, October 2, in Abuja.
The governor who was received by Vice President Namadi Sambo on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan at a brief ceremony held inside the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa had said he decided to join PDP in the overall interest of his people and the nation.
Some weeks back, report surfaced that Mimiko was planning to defect to PDP but he described it as mere rumour.
