The former Santos star hopes to reach the same heights as his illustrious compatriots during their time at Camp Nou Neymar is keen to emulate compatriots Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Ronaldo and Romario at Barcelona and achieve greatness with the Catalans.
The 21-year-old has put in a number of impressive performances since joining the reigning Spanish champions from Santos during the summer and he’s keen to build on his good start and follow in the footsteps of his fellow Brazilians.
“Ronaldinho made history at Barca, what he did on the pitch was phenomenal,” Neymar was quoted as saying on the official Uefa website.
“Ronaldo chose his own way and Romario and Rivaldo were both different types of players – they all had their own style and I have mine too.
“I’d just love to achieve the greatness they did.”
The Brazil international then went on to hail Dani Alves’ positive influence and stressed that the defender has played a big role in the way he has adapted to his new surroundings.
“You must have a good friend alongside you to help you with the things you need. I have Dani, who is really important in helping me adapt, both at the club and outside it.
“He’s someone who has helped me quite a lot.”
Neymar has scored five goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for Barca so far.
