NFF invites Amodu, Siasia

The Nigeria Football Federation ( NFF) has invited the interim coach of the Super Eagles Shuaibu Amodu and head Coach of the National U-23 team,  Samson Siasia to appear before its technical committee to defend their programmes for their upcoming assignments.

Last Tuesday the NFF handed Amidu a list of 66 players from which he is expected to select the players he intends to invite for the two remaining 2015 AFCON qualifying matches against Congo and South Africa while Siasia had on Monday submitted his own programme to the technical department as a sign of his readiness to begin his new assignment.

General Secretary of the NFF, Barr. Musa Amodu who disclosed this in an interview yesterday in his office also assured that  the Super Eagles will qualify for the championship going by the approach which Coach Amodu has brought to the job.

“We engaged Amodu and his team with the sole objective of qualifying for the nations cup. We know that that task is very onerous given the fact that after four rounds of matches we have gathered only four points, four behind group leaders South Africa and three behind our next opponents Congo.

This has left us in a very precarious position.

“They have been given the task of winning both matches comprehensively, so we would be sure of getting a total number of 10 points.”

With 10 points we are confident that we can qualify despite other results from our opponents.”

Amadu also revealed that at the meeting, Amodu would be expected to defend his  programme for the two matches, adding that the list of players he would invite for the two matches would also be discussed.

The scribe also revealed that the coach of the U-23 team will also defend his own programme for the Olympic team ahead of their own qualifying games.
