BUDDING music sensation, Soaleze Biosah, was the centre of attraction last weekend at Terra Kulture, when she unveiled the videos of two songs; Ave Maria and The 5th Horseman from her soon-to-be-released seven track album.
The videos, according to the director, Carl Millender, were shot on five different locations in the United States.
While Ave Maria connects well with Catholics, which the Igbo teenager is, The 5th Horseman is a fast tempo song that will excite not only the young, but also party lovers, Millender explained.
According to him, the 13-year-old’s talent caught the attention of Steve Fischer, a sound engineer while remaking both songs in his Atlanta studio. Fischer agreed to work with Soaleze on the maiden album of the Abuja-based prodigy which may be released next month.
A&R Records were said to have heard of the new artiste, and was said to have stormed Fischer’s studio to hear the girl. They were not disappointed, as a record deal was signed with Atlanta Records within two weeks while a distribution deal was signed with Universal Records.
An excited Soaleze said: “God surprised me with a bigger blessing as this deals would put me on global limelight. The joy of starting my career this way is amazing. I thank God and my dad for looking out for me. I know the sky won’t be my limit because I plan to get beyond it.”
Her father, Sir Dili Biosah, who had worked with the likes of King Sunny Ade, Onyeka Onwenu and Fela Anikulapo, said that the event was to let the media know that the little girl could be the next big deal in Nigeria’s music industry, as he had delicately groomed her, like Joe Jackson did with The Jacksons and Mr Williams with The Williams sisters.
