A frustrated officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence (NSCDC) guarding the LADOL Free Zone in Lagos, on Monday, went berserk over alleged nonpayment of salaries, killing a Korean expatriate and one of his colleagues.
The officer, simply identified as Francis, first shot and killed his colleague after he resumed work at the SHI-MCI FZE yard, before shooting the Korean and going after his other colleagues who all managed to escape.
According to eyewitnesses, Francis only stopped after running out of bullets and was subsequently apprehended. The expatriate who was working with Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), later died at the Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi, on Wednesday
