The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, says his plans and those of the presidential candidate of the party, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rted), can be achieved.

He added that only those who were corrupt were scared of being probed if the retired general won the March 28, 2015 presidential election.

Osinbajo, according to a statement on Sunday, spoke at an interactive session with some Christian and Muslim leaders at a forum organised by the All Christian Leaders Ministers Forum.

The vice presidential candidate said it was the resolve of the APC and Buhari to tackle corruption headlong.

He said, “Buhari’s stance against corruption has been the major headache for his opponents. It is the reason that they have embarked on mudslinging to run down Buhari rather than embark on a issue-based campaign.

“The APC manifesto and our plans to feed pupils of the public school a meal per day, youth empowerment programme, trainning programme for graduates after their national youth service and encouragement of farmers by buying their farm produce, among others can be achieved with transparency and accountability, which we are bringing to the table.”

Osinbajo also accused the Jonathan-led government of bastardising the nation’s economy by allowing oil theft to thrive.

He assured Nigerians that such would be a thing of the past when the APC formed the next government at the federal level.

Meanwhile, the Christian Association of Nigeria, Lagos State branch, has appealed to politicians to encourage their supporters to embrace peace before, during and after the general elections.

The chairman of the state chapter of CAN, Apostle Alexander Bamgbola, made the appeal while talking on the 2015 edition of the Interdenominational Divine Service of CAN coming up at the Apostolic Church, LAWNA, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos.

Bamgbola said the message of Christians to all politicians was to eschew violence and embrace peace, adding that the gubernatorial candidates contesting in Lagos State had been invited to the programme on Saturday.

He said, “We have formally invited all contestants individually to this year’s service, with the purpose of praying for them and encouraging them to embrace peace.”

On the President Goodluck Jonathan’s alleged bribery of the leadership of CAN, Bamgbola advised Nigerians to be careful of what they believe, adding that in a political era, people would say anything to boost their chances.
