Nigerian dancehall star Patoranking signed a deal with VP Records’ distribution arm, VPAL Music, to release his debut album. He is the first African dancehall artist to partner with the world’s largest reggae company.
VPAL Music is a New York-based record label. The label is a sub-label within VP Records Music Group since 2009. VPAL Music deals with independent artists and record labels. Through VP Records distribution channel, VPAL distributes music worldwide to help talented reggae artists. One of the biggest successes of VPAL is Israel Vibration’s Reggae Knights. The album got high recognition and strong sales through VPAL distribution and was nominated for Best Reggae Album Grammy in 2012. Another accomplishment for VPAL is Konshens who is one of the hottest dancehall artists now, who had his album upstreamed from VPAL to the VP Label after his successful album, Mental Maintenance with VPAL. VPAL’s recent releases include Third World Patriots, Sizzla In Gambia, Midnite In Awe, Anthony B Freedom Fighter, Mr. Vegas Sweet Jamaica, Cocoa Tea In A Di Red, Richie Stephens & Gentleman Live Your Life, and Bunny Rugs Time to name a few.
