Electricity consumers in Ondo and Ekiti state have expressed sadness over the total blackout of electricity power, which has affected economic activities in the two states.
The power outage has crippled businesses and made life difficulties for residents of the states.
Daily Times Correspondent reports that darkness had enveloped the two states since last week Saturday, thereby throwing the residents into palpable fear.
Traders, artisans and business owners in the affected states have continued to count their loss as the power cut persists.
Some of the residents in the states berated the officials of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) for the power cut and wondered why blackout of power would go for more than a week without quick solution.
Due to the outage, residents have resulted in using electric generators on the cost implication of fuel.
The Akure District Business Manager of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), Mrs. Abey Femi said the fault was as a result of damages on the transmission lines from Oshogbo, which supplies some parts of Ondo and Ekiti states.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the company in Ado Ekiti, Mr. Ilori Kayode Brown said as soon as the fault is rectify power would be restored immediately and pleaded with the people to have patience with the electricity firm.
Although, the two senior management staff of the company failed to give assurance on when electricity would be restored but residents have vowed to besieged the offices of the company in the two states to hasten work on the faulty transmission lines.
