The chairman of the university of Jos chapter of ASUU, Dr. Lazarus Maigoro while commending the federal government on the approval of twenty private universities to begin operations, condemned the poor academic standards of most private universities in the country.
According to Maigoro, most of the existing private universities are nothing to write home about about, as they keep producing graduates with empty brains that can not contribute meaningfully to the society.
He urged the management of the newly approved universities to live up to expectations by maintaining high academic standards and imbibe good qualities in their students.
