A 20-year-old Ohio, USA, woman, Deasia Watkins, has been arrested for allegedly beheading her three-month-old baby daughter, in what the police call homicidal violence.
The headless body of the infant was discovered by a family member and the police was called in.
The family says the young mother suffered from post-partum depression and was given to moments of violence.
Watkins’ aunt, Caretha White, says that Hamilton Family Services failed the baby for leaving the infant in Watkins custody knowing that she had been suffering from depression since the baby’s birth in December.
The baby’s father said the mother was “acting crazy… speaking of demons,”
Watkins has been charged to court with aggravated murder for murdering her baby who was named Janiyah.
The police also report that the infant’s head had been severed from the body and an autopsy revealed that the infant was also stabbed in the face and had a broken right arm.
