Zimbabwe Workers Gets Paid Before Christmas For The First Time In 3 Years

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe’s new president, has brought smiles to the faces of thousands of government workers in the country as he just approved early payment of salaries. This is the first time in three years, this will be happening.

According to Zimbabwe Herald, some payments will be made tomorrow and the recipients are members of the Zimbabwe National Army, Air Force of Zimbabwe and the health sector.

On December 19, workers in the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) will be paid, while teachers and the rest of the civil service get paid on December 21.

Pensioners, also have a cause to smile as their pensions according to The Herald, will be paid on December 21, the Herald reported.

Workers in grant-aided institutions are not so lucky to benefit from the early pay as their salaries come in on December 28.

Mrs. Cecilia Alexander, chair of a government agency, Apex Council, speaking on this good news said;

We are happy with the consideration taken by President (Emmerson) Mnangagwa’s administration because for the first time in many years we will enjoy the Christmas holidays because all of us are going to get paid before the festive season.

She added that government should also try to curb rising prices of goods in the market.
